Minna Harvey

Figurative artist with an instinct for story-telling and an eye for colour.  Sketchbook and pen in constant use, recording people, places and events as they take place.

Favoured subjects are saints and circus, travellers and journeys, folklore and festivals, celebrations and ceremonies and nativities. The interactive energy produced is what fuels and propels the painting process. Essentially the finished work retains its spontaneity and atmosphere the product of sound drawing, vibrant colour and ingenuity and much thought.

Medium:  pens, pastels, acrylics, and watercolour on paper, board, canvas or hinged wood panels.

Residencies: RNLI Lifeboat College Poole 2009-11 - Solo Exhibition VALOUR 2011. Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra 2011-2014.  Work Exhibited in BSO Green Room.

Dorset Visual Arts participant 2000-2010.

Club Memberships: Bournemouth Arts Club from 1973, Wimborne Art Club and Broadstone Art Society.

Art Education: Bath Academy of Art 1958-61+1year award to specialise in Textiles.

Subsequent Fine Arts Diplomas with Distinctions at Shelley Park under Brian Graham and Peter Joyce.
