BOURNEMOUTH ARTS CLUB

Founded in 1920,  Bournemouth Arts Club has a long history of setting the highest standards for contemporary arts in Bournemouth and the surrounding area. As well as its regular Annual Exhibition the club exhibits under the banner of Southern Contemporaries in galleries across Dorset.
The Club has a programme of exhibitions, workshops, studio visits, trips and plein air working days to maintain its reputation as a thriving, relevant arts organisation, supporting and inspiring a widespread artistic community.

Exhibitions are a key element of BAC and aim to raise an awareness and enjoyment of the visual arts; high standards are maintained as exhibitions are selected and curated by an outside artist.
The Club presents an Annual Exhibition with all members having at least one work shown.

Taking BAC to a wider audience, in 2000 the name Southern Contemporaries was introduced for exhibiting beyond Bournemouth and Poole.

Membership differs from other local art clubs, societies or groups as all full members are elected through selection by existing senior members.

Associate Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the arts who would enjoy club events. See Membership page for details on how to join as an associate.
